About Me
Hi! My name is Martha. For just about as long as I can remember, I've loved creating things. When I was a kid and my mother was selling her paintings, I had my own little stand for beaded necklaces. I've never had any drawing skills (as evidenced by my stunning self-portrait), but using beads and fabrics--combining colors, shapes, textures--was right up my alley. And it still is! Jewelry has always been my primary artistic passion. I am a graduate of the North Bennet Street School's program for Jewelry Making and Design and I work out of my own fully-stocked bench jeweler's shop. The shop itself has some history to it, most of the equipment having been previously owned by another NBSS graduate, a recently retired master stone-setter for many of the jewelry stores in the area including the now-defunct Service Merchandise. As you can imagine, I have plenty of nice, well-loved and well-maintained stone-setting tools to work with. I have also spent considerable time in the computer industry (when I take those sabbaticals from jewelry-making). I'm the webmaster of the FabMartha site, among other projects. The site has been recently improved with new features, functionality, database and front- and back-end design. I hope you like both my jewelry and my website. Please drop me a note and let me know what you think.
